What a year it has been – we hope you and your families are keeping well and staying safe!
This has been a challenging year for all of us – both personally and professionally. But we have also learned how strong we can be in the face of adversity – and also have quickly learned how to stay in touch via Zoom during times when meeting in person wasn’t possible. So, we thought to include a brief message in the format that is very of-the-moment right now and imagine that we can see you, as you see us!

For us, performing arts workers, 2020 meant we needed to change our plans and channel our creativity in different ways. Last year, WaxFactory celebrated its 20th anniversary, with a production of LULU XX which Erika and I co-created. This year, we took advantage of the break from performing to take stock of the work we’ve created over the past two decades and have been busy at work putting together a book that documents our journey and that we look forward to sharing with you in the new year. Also, Erika has accepted a full-time teaching position as an Assistant Professor of Theater Performance at the School of Contemporary Art the Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Also, she is working on a new production with Begat Theater (France) and hand2mouth (Portland, OR) titled HOME, along with being a mother to a now eight-year-old.
Across the country and the world theaters are still closed, but we remain hopeful that in the summer of 2021, we will be able to reschedule our international tour of
LULU XX and resume our summer training program in Europe. The challenges we are facing our many, but, if we have proven anything over the past 20 years, it is that we are incredibly resilient and we know how to adapt to and rise above difficult circumstances, and we are empowered to do that thanks to loyal followers like you, who have been steadfast in your support of WaxFactory over the years.
As the end of the year approaches, we ask that you please consider renewing your support by sending us a donation (
for ways to donate, click here.) Any amount you can give WILL make a difference, and it will support our efforts to return to performing and teaching live in 2021. ALL donations are tax-deductible, and we will issue you a receipt for filing purposes, along with a special gift to anyone donating $100 or more!!!
We wish you happy and healthy holidays and send best of wishes for an even happier new year,
